I ran my fastest ever last weekend. 13.1 miles and averaged a 7:33 per mile pace. Average heart rate was 159. I only time I have been able to get my HR to 166 is running up hill. I guess that is not true, the only time I chose to get my HR above or at 166 was running up hill. I will take a 7:33 pace at 162 HR ALL DAY LONG!!!! I am only running 2 times per week. - AT
Had a great race this weekend. I don't have my splits yet, but the swim felt great. I ended up placing 2nd overall. The woman who won was an elite racer. I was1st in my age group - so I was pleased. Thanks for all your help! :) -MD
After 5 weeks of training post 2nd test - "I just ran my fastest ever 10k averaging 6:06 miles. And I did it at the end of an Olympic Tri !!!!" - RD
In 2007, after 6 years of participating in triathlons, I decided to try my first Ironman. I chose Ironman Lake Placid for three reasons – proximity (within a drive to GR), timing (mid summer gives rest of summer for family), and spectator friendly due to all the loops that go through Lake Placid.
