Did You Know You Are Unique?
Whether you are interested in loosing weight or maintaining weight during training there is something that you need to know. You are unique.
While you can represent the entire population on a bell curve like grading in school, the fact remains that any diet will typically only work for the small percentage of the populationat the center of the bell curve the diet applies to. The fact is everyone is unique – but if you knew what makes you unique, you would know how to effectively control your weight.
We can measure this unique point about you; it is your Resting Metabolic Rate or RMR. Your Resting Metabolic Rate is the exact number of calories needed to sustain life and your current level of lean muscle tissue.
Fall below RMR and your body responds like it is being starved and eats lean muscle tissue to obtain calories for the life sustaining functions. This results in a loss of lean muscle mass which reduces the calories needed for RMR.
When dieting, we often drop below our RMR. Thus when we come off the diet we need fewer calories for RMR than before but, resume our normal eating patterns and quickly put the weight back on. The yo-yo of dieting weight loss can be explained.
Your Resting Metabolic Rate Test tells you how much you need to eat to stay above RMR and how much you can reduce your intake to loose weight effectively and safely. An RMR test can also be used by an athlete to develop the exact caloric intake needed for maintaining weight through intensive training.
This is not an easy fix, this is a long term solution. You can do it and we can help. RMR testing and recommendations give you the knowledge to take control of your weight.
